Brian Livingston is the editor
of the Windows
Secrets Newsletter and the
coauthor of 10 books in the Windows Secrets series.
The newsletter, which
has 140,000 subscribers, comes out twice a month by
e-mail and tells you
"everything about Windows that Microsoft forgot
to mention." The newsletter
has a free version and a longer, paid version. Anyone
may receive the paid
version by making a financial contribution of any amount
the information is
worth to them. There is no fixed fee.
Livingston
was named the Entrepreneur of the Year at the Internet
Content
Summit in New York City on May 8, 2006. He won the award
because his newsletter's
"contribution model" allows people with limited
budgets to get the
information in the paid version. At the same time, those
subscribers who
contribute larger amounts make it possible for the newsletter
to pay Windows
experts such as Woody Leonhard and Susan Bradley for
their revelations each
issue.
