| A noteable author, Jaclyn Easton is probably best known as an emmy award-winning reporter for CBS News and columnist for the Los Angeles Times. She is currently the president of Typo Gold, the world’s only Typo Traffic Strategists and I will be talking with her today about this concept of typos on the Internet.
As a columnist for The Los Angeles Times, on-camera Internet correspondent for CBS News, Los Angeles, and the host of the nationally syndicated radio show 'Log on U.S.A.,' Jaclyn established a reputation as a resource for cutting-edge e-commerce information and analysis. One resource called her "the world's only business technology futurist". Reporting on Internet commerce since the the early days in 1994, Jaclyn Easton’s success in dual careers is proof that she knows how to extract gems of information from the hype.
In 2004 she decided to leave journalism to become one of the success stories she was reporting on and founded the company Publishing 180. Publishing 180 uses print-on-demand (POD) technology whereby a book is not printed or a piece of merchandise is not made until an order is received. For this reason, print-on-demand is a risk-free opportunity because there are no start-up costs or inventory to carry.
According to USA Today, Publishing 180 is responsible for the most successful POD books ever published, including the 14 volume series of the scripts of the TV show Babylon 5 as well as the Best Speeches of Barack Obama. Publishing 180 also runs more than 16 online shops that sell POD merchandise (t-shirts, mugs, magnets, calendars, etc) for niches such as sushi lovers, believers in Mercury retrograde and fans of the book “Eat, Pray, Love.” Out of over 3 million POD shops online, one of Publishing 180's consistently ranks in the Top 10.
In addition to print-on-demand, Publishing 180 also owns more than 20 information-based websites that are notable for their “set-it-and-forget-it” passive income revenue model.
After developing a methodology to protect Publishing 180 domains from squatters, Jaclyn founded the Typo Gold company which is the only typo strategy firm in the world. Typo Gold is best known for its Domain Defense report which is relied on by Fortune 1000 companies and high profile websites to protect themselves from domain squatters.
Domain Defense goes beyond the obvious typographical errors by identifying out-of-the ordinary domains that squatters target and profit from, but would never be considered by most organizations. The average Domain Defense report saves companies as much as $1.8 million.
