Rand
Fishkin, also known as The Wizard of MOZ, became involved
in the Internet in 1993 writing batch files in MS-DOS,
creating his own startup systems for Windows and playing
around with the first edition of Microsoft Frontpage.
Then he met Gillian Muessig and they began a web development
startup firm called SEOmoz. After a start developing
Flash based sites, they moved into usability and consulted
on projects for local companies in the financial &
health industries. After working with a SEO firm that
just wasn't as effective as they wanted, Rand spearheaded
the efforts to establish SEOmoz as a leader in the SEO
industry, an effort that remains a driving focus even
today.
Rand Fishkin is a regular speaker
at search conferences as well as universities and other
venues. He is passionate about the Internet and always
willing to answer questions and give guidance. His smile
radiates genuine kindness wherever he goes and his yellow
Puma shoes have become his personal fashion trademark
and an icon that is sure to make you smile.
