the mission of the organization involves educating

SEMPO
is a non-profit professional association working
to increase awareness and promote the value of
Search Engine Marketing worldwide.
While individual benefits to members are not
the primary focus, the organization provides benefits
directly to members when they are offered, reviewed
by the membership committee and found valuable
for our members, and can be provided with little
or no implementation effort.
Some of SEMP's Membership Benefits include:
- Discounts: Members can receive discounts to
conferences, research papers, and subscriber
sites. All of the discounts are listed on the
members-only part of the web site.
- Service Requests: The organization receives
many emails from companies looking for SEO/SEM
services. The sempo.org web site now includes
a 'request services' function on the home page
that lets non-members request the services of
SEMPO members. Any one can post, and only SEMPO
members can respond.
- Job Board: The SEM/SEO Jobs Board is for SEMPO
members and sponsors to post jobs that are available
in their company or to post their availability
to offer services. Anyone reading the job list
can contact that company regarding the employment
opportunity.
- Member Meetings: Informational meetings that
give members an opportunity to mingle with other
members, sponsors and industry analysts. Additionally,
the organization plans to provide members with
the right educational material to help grow
the spend of SEM with clients and potential
clients.
