Social Bookmarking Services
Phenomenon
Social bookmarking has caught on like wildfire
and sharing his insight into this part of the
Web 2.0 phenomenon, Pierre explains what they
are all about.
Web 2.0 SEO Tools Development
for Fun & Work!
As the creator of the Socializer, a one-click
does it all social bookmarking tool (way cool!)
and many other tools, Pierre talks about how and
why he started developing them.
In the 90s, people used to create pages with
their favorite links and post them on the Internet
for handy reference. Today, social bookmarking
Websites includes the ease of sharing favorites.
In the SEO world, this has created a way for measuring
the popularity of a website. The more buzz a website
generates, the easier it is for it to gain links,
traffic, and even more buzz.
The other major aspect of social bookmarking
is tagging, which is simply associating keywords
with words that are linked to a page with all
sites tagged with that word. Websites should allow
visitors to easily bookmark sites and since social
bookmarking services sometimes suggest tags, a
smart strategy would be to be the first to bookmark
your own links using your favorite tags that will
likely be suggested to other bookmarkers, nudging
the buzz towards your goal keywords.
